UFC 297: Strickland vs du Plessis airs live on pay-per-view from Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada on Saturday, January 20. A day before the fight show the athletes step on the scales to make it official for their respective bouts.

In the main event, UFC middleweight champion Sean Strickland (28-5) of the United States makes the first defense of his title against No. 2-ranked contender Dricus Du Plessis (20-2) of South Africa. Both fighters made the required 185 lbs championship limit and are eligible for the belt.

Sean Strickland weighed-in at 184.75 lbs. Dricus Du Plessis showed 184 lbs. The contest is scheduled for five rounds.

The five round co-main event features No. 2-ranked bantamweight contender Raquel Pennington (15-8) of the United States up against No. 3 Mayra Bueno Silva (10-2-1, 1 NC) of Brazil. The pair battles it out for the division’s vacant title. The championship limit is 135 lbs. The fighters came-in at 134.8 lbs and 135 lbs, respectively.

Ramon Taveras missed the bantamweight limit, showing 139.75 lbs for his bout against Serhiy Sidey, who was 135 lbs. He forfeits 30 percent of his purse and the bout proceeds at catchweight.

Malcolm Gordon missed weight, showing 127.5 lbs for his flyweight bout against Jimmy Flick, 126 lbs. He forfeits 20 percent of his purse and the bout proceeds at catchweight.
