Reece Bellotti vs Liam Dillon set for February in London

Reece Bellotti and Liam Dillon square off on Saturday, February 10 at Indigo at The O2 in London, England. The pair battles it out in the headliner of Matchroom Boxing’s NXTGEN. The bout is scheduled for 12 rounds at super featherweight.

The event was originally scheduled to see a rematch between Conah Walker and Cyrus Pattinson live from Vertu Motors Arena in Newcastle, England. Today, the promotion announced that the fight fell off due to an eye injury sustained by the latter.

Bellotti (17-5, 14 KOs) is riding a three-fight winning streak. In his previous outing last October, the 33-year-old native of Watford, England stopped Aqib Fiaz in eight rounds and landed the vacant Commonwealth title.

“Always stay ready!” Reece Bellotti said. ” A brilliant opportunity has come up for me to win a title that I’ve dreamed of winning since I was a kid and I can’t wait. I plan on kicking 2024 off with a bang on February 10 and then kicking on from there. This has the potential to be a massive year for me. I’m absolutely buzzing, let’s go!”

Unbeaten Dillon (13-0-1, 3 KOs) won his previous bout last July by split decision against Qais Ashfaq. With the victory, London’s 28-year-old lifted the vacant British belt.

“I’m looking forward to defending my British title against Reece Bellotti at the top of a big Matchroom Boxing card live around the world on DAZN,” Liam Dillon said. “Reece’s Commonwealth title is also on the line so that’s another big motivation for me. 2024 is going to be a big year for my career. My British title isn’t going anywhere. See you on February 10!”

In the co-main event, Watford’s Shannon Ryan (6-0) and Emma Dolan (6-0, 1 KOs) of Norwich, England contest for the vacant British super flyweight strap. In addition, Dolan’s Commonwealth title is at stake. The bout is scheduled for 10 rounds.

Also on the card a lightweight bout between Cameron Vuong (3-0, 2 KOs) of Blyth, England and Ishmael Ellis (14-7) of Birmingham, England. As well, John Hedges (8-0, 2 KOs) of Harlow, England and Hamburg, Germany-based Erdogan Kadrija (20-5, 12 KOs) of Gjakova, Kosovo clash at cruiserweight.

Plus, London’s Maisey Rose Courtney (5-0) and Wakefield, England-based Jasmina Zapotoczna (6-0) of Wroclaw, Poland meet at flyweight. In addition, Khaleel Majid (12-0, 4 KOs) of Bolton, England goes through the ropes at super lightweight against an opponent to be named.
