The rematch between Alexis Rocha and Raul Curiel is reportedly set for January 16 at Acrisure Arena in Palm Desert, California. Their first fight last December in Ontario, California, was ruled a majority draw.
Santa Ana’s Rocha (25-2-1, 16 KOs) and Curiel (16-0-1, 14 KOs) of Mexico went head-to-head for 12 rounds at welterweight. Two of the judges scored the fight 114-114, while one judge scored it 116-112 in favor of Rocha.
28-year-old southpaw Rocha hasn’t stepped through the ropes since their first fight and was sidelined due to an injury.
Curiel, 29, returned to the ring in June, scoring a fourth-round knockout over Victor Ezequiel Rodriguez on the undercard of Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.
The Rocha vs Curiel rematch was reported by The Ring on Tuesday. Golden Boy is expected to make a formal announcement for the DAZN-streamed event shortly.
