Bruce Carrington faces Bernard Torres on Foster vs Nova undercard

Bruce Carrington takes on Bernard Torres on Friday, February 16 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York. The scheduled for 10 rounds featherweight bout kicks off the televised card, headlined by O’Shaquie Foster’s WBC junior lightweight title defense against Abraham Nova.

Brooklyn-based undefeated Carrington (10-0, 6 KOs) is coming off the win by TKO in the second round against Jason Sanchez last month in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Earlier in 2023, the 26-year-old native of Westbury, New York defeated Angel Antonio Contreras and Juan Antonio Lopez by unanimous decision, and stopped Luis Porozo and Brandon Chambers in the second and eighth round, respectively.

Gran, Norway-based Torres (18-1, 8 KOs) won two of his previous bouts. The 27-year-old southpaw last fought in June 2023 in Oslo, where he earned a unanimous decision against Nasibu Ramadhani. Early last year, the Tagbilaran City, Philippines native TKO’d Cristian Avila in Round 8.

“It is always extra special to fight in at The Garden in front of my hometown fans, and I look forward to putting on a show for my people and everyone watching on ESPN,” Bruce Carrington said. “I’ve graduated from prospect to contender, and this is the year everyone sees my full arsenal.”

Also joining Foster vs Nova undercard, Las Vegas-based Guido Vianello (11-1-1, 9 KOs) of Roma, Italy looks for his second win in a row, when he meets Moses Johnson (11-1-2, 8 KOs) of Huntington, New York. The latter eyes his third straight victory. The pair goes head-to-head in an eight-round bout at heavyweight.

As well, Delante “Tiger” Johnson (11-0, 5 KOs) of Cleveland, Ohio looks to improve his unbeaten record, when he squares off against Paulo Cesar Galdino (13-7-2, 9 KOs) of Brazil. The contest is scheduled for eight rounds at super lightweight.

In addition, unbeaten Ofacio Falcon (10-0, 6 KOs) of The Bronx, New York and Edward Ceballos (11-4-1, 6 KOs) of Phoenix, Arizona clash in an eight-round bout at super featherweight. Plus, Dominican southpaw Euri Cedeno (7-0-1, 6 KOs) goes up against Antonio Todd (15-9, 9 KOs) of Atlanta, Georgia in an eight-round bout at middleweight.

Rounding out the card, unbeaten Isaah Flaherty (6-0, 3 KOs) of Queens, New York goes through the ropes in a six-round middleweight bout against an opponent to be named.

In the 12-round main event, O’Shaquie Foster (21-2, 12 KOs) of Orange, Texas puts his WBC junior lightweight title on the line against Abraham Nova (23-1, 16 KOs) of Puerto Rico. In the 10-round co-main event, Las Vegas native Andres Cortes (20-0, 11 KOs) faces off Puerto Rican Bryan Chevalier (20-1-1, 16 KOs) at super featherweight.
